Venue: FLOOR
Dates: 15 April – 26 April
Opening hours: Mon-Fri 10am – 4pm, free entry.

FLOOR will be hosting the exhibition Queer as the Ocean by Carlo De Gaetano as part of the Climate Imaginaries at Sea Festival from 15 -26 April.

In this exhibition of high-fashion portraits generated with Midjourney, De Gaetano shows us a future of more-than-human intimacy in a changing climate. By playfully queering our notion of the sea, the portraits soften the boundaries between human and aquatic life.

Queer as the Ocean was developed in the context of the Climate Imaginaries at Sea project, an artistic research coalition between the Visual Methodologies Collective (AUAS), Art & Spatial Praxis (Rietveld Academie), and DAS research (AHK), and previously exhibited at Amsterdam Dance Event, Warming Up Festival and Society 5.0.

The Climate Imaginaries at Sea Festival is a week-long exploration of artistic  research practices, workshops and presentations at venues across Amsterdam including Vox-pop, Perdu Theatre, Bradwolff Projects and Tolhuistuin.
